My mother-in-law acquired some lamps. Actually, they are not lamps, they are ceiling fixtures with outlet power plugs. Anyway, she asked me a while ago to make some bases for them to stand upright. My plan then was to make them out of wood, but they ended up consuming storage space in my shop for a little while.

She recently came across the “shades” and asked if I could do the project before Christmas.

My original design, assumed the screw holes were uniform between both, which is why i created and printed the smaller part with the lines. So I could measure and print the individual parts.

Because of the positioning of my office, I need the control module for my printer on the side opposite from where it’s designed to be positioned. But then the cable rests on the belt pulley. I created this cover to prevent that.

The cover on the belt, didn’t have enough clearance, and was getting pushed off.

I redesigned it to fit on the structure of the gantry and now it does the job I was expecting it to do.

I recently went to a game, got the hat, and acquired a Baseball shaped beer cup. I also recently realized that I collect ball caps, but don’t really wear them that much. So putting these on display seemed like the right move.

My wife asked for a solution to storing the odd sized Ziplocs that we don’t have a full package of.
